What our students are saying …
We cannot earn our way back to God by being “good people” or doing religious works. Salvation is a free gift from God. It is only by trusting in what Jesus did for us on the cross that we can be forgiven and our relationship with God restored.al
We believe there is only one God, the Creator of the universe. He exists eternally as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is not a distant force; He is a loving Father who desires a personal relationship with us.
We believe that as God’s supreme creation, humans were made in His image, male and female, for His joy and glory, and with tremendous potential for good. Sin, an attitude of disobedience towards God, has separated us from Him. We have all wandered off and chosen our own way and it’s the root cause of the brokenness we see in our world.
Sin separates all humans from God, and only through faith in Jesus Christ as God’s sacrifice can we be forgiven and our relationship with Him restored. Salvation is a gift we can accept through faith or reject, and cannot be earned through self-improvement or good works.
Jesus is not just a good teacher; He is God in human form. We believe He came to earth, lived a perfect life, and willingly died on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins. He rose physically from the dead, proving He is who He claimed to be. He is the only bridge between a holy God and broken people.
We were made for eternity, to rest and rule with God on Earth, but sin has separated us from Him. Through forgiveness and salvation in Christ, we can join Him again in heaven, while rejecting Christ leads to eternal separation from God in a place the Bible refers to as hell.
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence active in the world today. He shows us our need for Jesus and lives inside every believer from the moment of salvation. He gives us the power to change, the guidance to make right choices, and the ability to understand God’s Word.
Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, and while humans can reject God and lose their salvation, this is not the result of a lack of effort on the Christian’s part.
Communion is an ordinance given to all believers by Jesus Christ, symbolizing our new covenant. The elements of bread and wine (or juice) represent Christ’s broken body and the blood he shed for us on the cross. It is a testament to a believer’s faith in the power of the cross to cover our sins.
We believe the Bible is God’s letter to humanity. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for our beliefs and our daily living. It is accurate, reliable, and relevant to our lives today.
